Internationally acclaimed poet Anton Floyd shares excerpts and stories from his remarkable collection Depositions which was recently selected by the National Library of Scotland to showcase National Poetry Day in Scotland.
Already acclaimed in a multi-lingual edition, published under the auspices of the UNHCR, this special illustrated edition of Depositions is now published with the support of the Gaelic Book Council in the native languages of Britain and Ireland and will be featured in a special presentation at this year’s Royal National Mod in Oban.
Also featuring poet, singer and translator Marcas Mac an Tuairneir.
This event is in English and Gaelic, with readings in Irish, Welsh and Scots.
The event will also feature a short film, Woman, Life, Freedom. Marcas Mac an Tuairneir, Gaelic translator, poet and singer, will discuss his involvement in the project, and poets and Peter MacKay, Vahid Davar, David Herd, Eleni Kefala, Jordi Larios and Elodie Laügt will read passages from Depositions in different languages and will respond to their reading of the collection with their own poems in Gaelic, Persian, English, Greek, Catalan and French.
