Thursday March 17 2022, 6-7 pm
The Centre for Poetic Innovation is teaming up with the Edwin Morgan Trust to present an online information session, with useful tips about how to bring your poetry collection together in preparation for submission to the 2022 Edwin Morgan Poetry Award: #EMPA2022.
The discussion will cover points such as:
– How do I select which poems should be in the collection?
– What is the best way to format my poems?
– How do I present visual or concrete poems?
– When is it better to enter with a video or audio file vs a text file?
– How do I make sure that my selected poems ‘speak’ to each other?
Heather H. Yeung 楊希蒂, poet and convenor of the MLitt in English Studies at the University of Dundee, will be joined by panelists who will each share their tips for the final stages of development of a poetry collection. The session will be followed by a Q&A opportunity, where you can ask our panel questions regarding your submission. The event will be live streamed, BSL/ English interpreted and a recording will also be made available online via the Edwin Morgan Trust website after the event.
